Mr. Somerstein joins Greenspoon Marder’s Real Estate Group where he focuses his practice on commercial and residential real estate transactional matters, including the preparation of contracts, lease agreements and loan documents.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Somerstein gained much of his legal experience during his clerkship at a boutique, commercial litigation firm in Boca Raton. At this firm, he managed legal research and drafted pleadings, motions and legal memoranda in the areas of real estate and construction litigation, general business litigation, attorney malpractice, and contract disputes.
Mr. Somerstein also gained further experience serving as a Legal Intern at the Public Defender’s Office, 11th Judicial Circuit. Here he assisted in the administration of criminal bond hearings, arraignment proceedings, and case preparation. In addition, Mr. Somerstein served as a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Susan Lebow of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court, and also completed a legal internship with the University of Central Florida’s Athletic Department.
Mr. Somerstein earned his juris doctorate from Florida State University College of Law, and is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration, a minor in Real Estate and a Specialization in Sports Management. While attending FSU College of Law, Mr. Somerstein served as the Managing Editor of the Florida State Business Review, as President of the FSU Real Estate Law Society, and as a Governor for The Florida Bar Law Student Division.
